SPHERE LIT FROM THE TOP

Based on the wall drawing "Sphere Lit from the Top," this work for string quartet explores the same minimalist drawing techniques of Sol LeWitt. The work is based on short motives that become shorter and more intense throughout the piece, which ends in a grand sweep as if seeing the sphere from a distance.

This work was written for the 2017 ASU Student Composers Concert at the Phoenix Art Museum and premiered by the Herberger Institute String Quartet.
