Commissioned by Jerry Luckhardt for the 125th Anniversary of Bands at the University of Minnesota, this piece for symphonic band is a tour-de-force and a showpiece for the entire band. The program revolves around the forces of Minnesota marching off heroically to join the Civil war. This work features the loon call which signifies the events taking place in Minnesota.
