BRIDGES

In a twenty-first century world, people are connected by multiple mediums. There are physical and technological mediums that connect people, and these piece explores the connection of the acoustic sounds of the bass clarinet and electronics. The composition of this piece is also a bridge (arch-form) and is a near perfect retrograde. Whether it is metaphysical or literal, this piece seeks to be a connection of ideas to a nearly universally recognized physical connection: bridges.

This work was commissioned for Low ClarinetFest 2025 at Glendale Community College by Dr. Katrina Clements. It features flutter tonguing, slap tonguing, and a variety of multiphonics. Learn more about Katrina here.
