Sonata No. 2 "Romantic"
in B-flat major
In homage to Richard Strauss, this sonata for trumpet and piano is modeled in the late romantic style in melody, harmony, and in length. Nearly 30 minutes in length, this three movement work is a perfect recital work for trumpet/piano duos.
The version available from this website is revised 2nd edition (the version used for the premiere), but the original may be found here on proquest as it was my masters thesis for my composition degree.
